Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Video Downscript Chrome extension and this website. Both are run by Panaweb LLC ("we"). Contact: info@panaweb.top.

Summary

The extension works on your computer. We don't collect your browsing history, the videos you watch or the transcripts you copy. We don't sell data, show ads or use analytics trackers.

What the extension handles on your computer

• The page you're on: its address, title, list of caption tracks and the addresses of its video streams. The extension needs these to show transcripts and find downloadable video. They stay in your browser.
• Network requests of the current tab: addresses and headers such as Referer, used to find video streams and to request them the same way the page does. Cookie headers are not stored. Nothing is sent to us.
• Settings such as languages, formats and download folder, saved with Chrome sync so they follow your Chrome profile.
• Download history: the file names of videos you saved, kept on your computer so you can open them again. You can remove entries at any time.

What is sent to our server

The Chrome Web Store edition sends only the following:

• A random install ID that isn't linked to you, the extension version and, if you entered one, your license key. This checks whether Pro is active, happens about twice a day and lets us count active installs.
• When you buy Pro, Link (a payment service by Stripe) processes the payment as reseller. We receive your email address, plan and Stripe customer and subscription IDs so we can issue and manage your license. We never see or store card numbers. • If you use the support or uninstall form, we receive what you type, and your email if you add it.

Third parties

Transcripts and video come directly from the website you're viewing, the same way your browser would load them. Payments go through Link and Stripe. We don't share data with anyone else.

How long we keep data, and your rights

We keep license records while your license is active and for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Email us to see, correct or delete your data and we'll reply within 30 days. Uninstalling the extension deletes everything it stored on your computer.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Our use of information received from Chrome APIs follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is used only for the extension's single purpose, is not transferred for advertising and is not used to decide creditworthiness.

Children

Video Downscript is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

When this policy changes we'll update the date above. Bigger changes will also be listed in the extension's release notes.
