Privacy policy

Effective 16 October 2026. AirGapped is published by Panaweb LLC ("we"). This policy covers the AirGapped apps for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux, and the AirGapped browser extension.

Your files

Files, folders, text and links you send stay between your own devices. When you send with codes, data travels as light from one screen to a camera. When you send over Wi-Fi, it goes directly between the two devices on your local network, encrypted end to end with a key made from the 4-digit PIN. AirGapped refuses to connect to addresses outside your local network. We never receive, see or store what you send.

Camera

The camera is used only while the Receive screen is open, to read codes. Frames are decoded on the device and discarded. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.

Local network

Wi-Fi transfers use your local network to find nearby AirGapped devices and to send directly between them. You can turn this off in Settings.

Anonymous usage counts (optional, off by default)

If, and only if, you choose "Share counts", the app sends once a day: a random install ID created by the app, the app version, the platform, and daily totals (how many transfers by codes and by Wi-Fi, how many bytes in total, and how long the app was open). It never sends file names, contents, fingerprints, contacts, location or any account. You can turn this off at any time in Settings; unsent counts are then deleted. We keep these counts for up to 24 months to understand how the app is used.

Activating Pro

When you activate a license key, the app sends the key, a device ID and the platform name (for example "android") to panaweb.top, once. The device ID is a short code the app makes on the device by hashing a system identifier; the identifier itself never leaves the device. We store which device IDs use which license so a license is used on no more devices than it covers, and so you can see and move your devices on the Your devices page. If you activate on the web page instead, the same three things are sent from the browser you use. We keep this for as long as the license exists.

Purchases and feature requests

If you pay for Pro or fund a feature request on our website, Stripe processes the payment. We receive your email address and the payment status, never your card details. Purchases inside the mobile apps are handled by Google Play or the App Store under their own policies.

What we do not do

No ads, no ad identifiers, no selling or sharing of data, no third-party analytics or tracking libraries.

Children

AirGapped is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Deleting your data

Transfer history and settings live only on your device; uninstalling removes them. To delete usage counts linked to your install ID or anything you sent us through a form, follow these steps or email info@panaweb.top.
